Pedro Martinez is due to throw a bullpen session today. Martinez last threw Friday night in Cincinnati. The Mets oft-injured starter’s session included 30-plus pitches. He walked away without any pain. Martinez had a cortisone shot for a strained groin last Thursday in New York. [link]

Ryan Church watched batting practice and Pedro Martinez threw a bullpen session Tuesday. Martinez threw 56 pitches last night and said after, “As long as I feel good [today], I’ll be ready for the weekend.” Pedro has pitched 44 innings in nine starts this year.
