... or the hall myself. But I tend to be a guy who doesn’t see the need for official recognitions or awards either. Whether they be movie, music, TV or sports, awards just never seem to jive with what people see as reality. It’s a bunch of hooey when you get right down to it. Hat tip to David Pinto who notes that Goose Gossage gets into the Hall of Fame with 86% of the vote . Jim Rice came the closest to getting in (though I personally am unsure that he deserves a berth in the HoF). Bert Blyleven jumped from last year to garnering 62% of the vote this year and hopefully, at some point,the writers will realize that he belongs. I am really disappointed at the showings for McGwire and Raines though. ...
