Morgan Ensberg Signs With Yankees Links6
According to a source, the Yankees have signed Morgan Ensberg.   They'll use him at first base (and maybe off the bench).  Not sure if it's a minor or Major League deal. Ensberg, 32, hit .231/.320/.404 for the Astros and Padres in '07.  He earned $4.35MM, and the Padres non-tendered him in December.  The Astros had designated him for assignment in July after acquiring ... Yanks Ink Ensberg
Published 1/31/2008 by Joseph P. at River Ave. Blues
... Here’s something we wanted to see happen last year, but apparently was blocked by Joe Torre. The Yanks have signed Morgan Ensberg. No word on the nature of the deal — that is, whether it’s a major or minor league deal. My guess is that it’s a minor league one (saving the Yanks a roster spot), with an opt-out if he doesn’t make the big league roster. ...

Ensberg Signs / Keith Law’s Top 100
Published 1/31/2008 by EJ Fagan at Pending Pinstripes
Tim Dierkes has it on a source. I’ve been waiting for someone to grab Ensberg off the scrap heap. We’re talking about a guy who is one year removed from a .396 OBP season. I don’t expect Ensberg to ever hit 30 home runs again, but he’s probably just as solid as any of our other options at the position, with any outside shot at being an asset. Hopefully its a minor league deal, so we can store him away at Scranton if necessary. Reader Nick emailed me Keith Law’s top 100 prospects.  Chamberlain is at #3, Tabata at #21, Jackson ...

Ensberg joins the Yanks
Published 1/31/2008 by Jason at MY BASEBALL BIAS
... I thought Ensberg would have a bounce back season in 2007 after and return to his 2005 numbers when he hit .283 with 36 home runs and 101 RBI. Instead, he regressed even more in ‘07 hitting only 231/.320/.404 for the Astros and Padres. He now joins Jason Giambi, Wilson Betemit, Chris Duncan and Jason Lane as all players who can man first base. I would love to see Ensberg have a bounce back year, but I think it’s wishful thinking. Hat tips go out to MLBTR and Ian

Yankees Ink Ensberg/Mariners Sign Wilkerson
The New York Yankees attempted to solidify first-base today, signing infielder Morgan Ensberg to a 1-year deal. Ensberg has always had adequate power, hitting 36 bombs in 2005 and 23 more in 2006, but only hit 12 home-runs between the Houston Astros and San Diego Padres last season. He’s been primarily a third-baseman his entire career, so it’ll be interesting to see how he does ...
ANOTHER First Baseman?!
The Yanks have completed another mini-signing, this time for 3rd baseman Morgan Ensberg . I refer to it as a "mini" signing because it is just a 1-year deal and with A-Rod at 3rd base he obviously won't be getting much starting time over in that corner. In fact, he will most likely spend most of his limited playing time as part of the platoonity over at 1st base. It's not a bad deal for the ...
