Mr. Rocktober Was Almost a Met
Yorvit Torrealba would have been the story today if Huston Street didn’t do his best Brad Lidge impression. According to Jayson Stark that double made Torrealba 20 for his last 33 with runners in scoring position the last two months. In 2007 he hit over .500 against the Phillies and, ...

The Most Beautiful Failure
The Most Beautiful Failure
theballclub.blogspot.com — October 19th, a rather unassuming day as it might seem, is a rather cathartic day for most Mets fans, at least those who remember some of the more memorable games that this team has played on October 19th. On October 19th, 1986, the Mets played the Red Sox in Game 2 of the World Series. The ... (more) The Most Beautiful Failure

theballclub.blogspot.com — We continue with our 2009 Mets Report Card. Now, the pitchers. Mike Pelfrey - C I named Mike Pelfrey one of my 5 Key Mets before the season assuming that he was probably going to build on his very successful season in 2008. Thoughts on Mets Catching Situation
Mike Silva's New York Baseball Digest — ... Right now Omir Santos and Josh Thole would be the Mets backstops if tomorrow were opening day. As much as I value great game calling and defense, two of Santos strengths, I believe he is more of a backup than everyday catcher. Josh Thole seems to have a promising future, but it appears his defense requires a season at AAA. So far names like Bengie Molina, Rod Barajas, Chris Snyder, and even Jason Varitek have been mentioned. I think the best choice would be the “almost Met” Yorvit Torrealba. ...

First Do No Harm
nleastchatter.com 10/7/2009 — I smell a repeat of this debacle. Aside from my previous arguments about ...
