Stunt Diver Belly Flops His Way To World Record
SPORTSbyBROOKS —
I wish an exhibit like this had been on hand when I’d lived in Denver and frequented the Water World water park just outside the city. Anyway, a former strip club DJ named Darren Taylor has made a name for himself as “Professor Splash” by jumping into shallow pools from ridiculous heights — and per Denver’s KUSA, he recently broke his own record ...
Prof. Splash Gets Tenure at University of Awesome's College of Kickass [Bahoohooweee]

Darren Taylor, a former strip club DJ, has catapulted to amazing heights in life, only so that he may jump from them into shallow pools of water. Now known as Professor Splash, broke his own record when he plunged from 35 feet, five inches into 12 inches of water in a padded kiddie pool. Taylor has previously set shallow-dive world records in Italy, Spain, Japan and Germany. Professor Splash said his technique is to "skip across the water" when he makes contact with it. Taylor also added that "experience and research" is the key to success dives and that what he does is ...
Professor Splash Sets Shallow Dive World Record

Because it's June, and the only mainstream sport going on is baseball, you wind up with stations like CNN reporting on some utterly bizarre sports to fill airtime.
Today's example is the completely worthless sport of shallow diving.
Professor Splash - a former strip club DJ who I'm sure received his professorship from Princeton - recently set a world record by diving into 12 inches of water from 35 feet 5 inches high.
So how exactly does he do it?
Professor Splash said his technique is to "skip across the water" when he makes contact with ...

Darren Taylor is a cool guy. He is a former strip club DJ (my dream job) and he just set a world record for shallow diving. This guy jumped from 35 feet, 5 inches into a kiddie pool that is 12 inches deep. At least it was padded. So who was crazy enough to be the previous record holder. I’ll you a clue, it was him.

Most swimming pools have "no diving" signs for anything shallower than 4 feet of water. And that's assuming you're jumping in from the edge of the pool. This guy dove into 12 inches of water from a three-story platform, setting a world record of some sort. "Stupidest stunt not resulting in paralyzing spinal injury" would be my guess.
