Mike Mussina has been more than serviceable in his last two starts. Against the Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians, Mussina has pitched a combined 12 innings, allowing 11 hits and four earned runs while striking out five and walking two. Those are fine numbers for a fourth or fifth starter.

tireball.com 4/29/2008 — I turned on the broadcast of the Yankees and Indians game to see that Mike Mussina was pitching out of trouble in the bottom of the fifth inning. Mussina was already over 80 pitches but did manage to escape the inning allowing just two runs despite having the bases loaded with no outs at one point.
