I didn't get to it in the recaps, but Jim Edmonds made his Cubs debut yesterday, against the Padres of all teams. 1-4 with a strikeout. He stranded seven and Cubs fans booed him, but it didn't matter because the Padres were the Padres and didn't score any runs. Embarrassingly, San Diego intentionally walked Fukudome to get to him in the bottom of the fifth, and it wasn't to set up a double play or anything (there were already two outs). They just knew -- as their release of him implied -- that he can't hit anymore.
