NASCAR has come out with an official release on the Regan Smith pass at the end of the race.
A.J. Allmendinger is going to be in a Sprint Cup car this week as he attempts to qualify the #00 Michael Waltrip car at Lowe’s.
Denny Hamlin has been released from the hospital that he went after his big wreck at Talladega. Denny has no concussion or broken bones. He has not been given the okay by NASCAR to come back to racing yet.

“Since the end of the race there has been some confusion as to what is allowable during the last lap at Daytona and Talladega. To be clear, as we go forward, there will be no passing under the yellow line at any time during NASCAR races at Daytona or Talladega, period. This includes any passing below the yellow line near the start/finish line on the final lap.”

... the yellow line, he made the right move here and had to go with it, but two things, first Smith had to get back above the yellow line before the start/finish line and then make the pass, second, Smith didn’t get the chance to give the position back to Stewart, there was no time, the finish line was right there, so Smith should have been scored second period, not 18th and that’s it.
