Four weeks ago we learned of licensed Cubs vendors outside Wrigley Field selling racially insensitive shirts that read 'Horry Cow' with a slanted eyes cubbie bear on the front. Just the night before that report, I was at the park saw a women walk ...Z Streak Snapped

Game Forty-Three - Cubs 6 Pirates 7 WP - Damaso Marte (3-0) LP - Carlos Marmol (1-1) Save - Matt Capps (10) Carlos Marmol started the 9th in his typical fashion, with a strikeout, but a bloop infield single on a 0-2 pitch to Freddy Sanchez changed the inning. Nate McLouth followed with a home run that just made it into the basket in right. It was only the second long ball of the season ...05/17/08: Pirates win 7-6 on Nate McLouth’s 9th-inning homer…

The Cubs had to be feeling very good heading into Saturday afternoon’s game, with a perfect 10-0 record against the Pirates on the season to date & ace Carlos Zambrano on the hill. However, things didn’t go according to plan as Pittsburgh scored 5 runs in the 5th inning or later to lead themselves to a 7-6 win over Chicago at Wrigley Field. Two More for Soriano

2 out of 3 from the Cardinals on the road? I'll take it. -------------------- [ Wednesday Loss ] [ Thursday Win ] ------------ Wednesday was another shot at .500, and once again it would not happen. Paul Maholm's numbers looked terrible in this game. Ignore that. He deserved a heck of a lot more than what he got, from the offense, defense, and simply luck. Paul gave up 11 hits in 6 ...Game 39 Recap--Pirates 8 Cardinals 4

Would have been one of the best wins this year were it not for a key injury. --- [ Recap ] ----- Wild game. It started off with a rain delay. Perfect. Then, Phil Dumatrait and Kyle Loshe of all people both came out and pitched well. Loshe was perfect for 6 innings, save the fourth when he gave up a single to Fred and a bomb to Nate. Dumatrait was fantastic..with one exception. It came in a ...A Look at the Standings

The Pirates have allowed more runs than any team in the National League. If you'd told me before the season started that was going to happen, I wouldn't have been surprised. I would have been surprised, though, that the Bucs would be tied for third in the NL in runs scored. That's remarkable, and it says a lot about how fantastic Nate McLouth, Xavier Nady and Ryan Doumit -- ...Saturday fantasy wrap

BY ADAM RONIS I targeted Nate McLouth has a late-round sleeper before the season. I expected good numbers with some power and speed, but the power he has displayed so far has been surprising. He hit his 12th homer and is hitting .312 with 36 RBIs. He has 24 home runs since last season's All-Star Break. He didn't even earn the starting position until late in the spring. No wonder why the ...More on the First Wrigley Triumph

Alfonso Soriano did everything he could to beat the Pirates on Saturday afternoon, going 5-for-5 with two home runs and three RBIs. Nate McLouth, however, continued his quest to prove that April was not a fluke, hitting a two-run home run in the ninth inning to put the Pirates ahead 7-5. That lead would become uncomfortable in the bottom half of the ninth as Matt Capps let up a run, with ...Game 43 Recap--Pirates 7 Cubs 6
