Week in Review: Avery fastest to 150
Dallas Mavericks —
A perfect 3-0 week in Big-D, highlighted by home wins over San Antonio and Memphis, has the Mavericks sitting pretty at 7-2 and undefeated in the league’s toughest division. When Dallas held off the Grizzlies on Saturday night to notch their seventh win of the season, Avery Johnson became the fastest coach to reach 150 wins for his career - doing it in only 191 games. That’s a ridiculous .785 winning percentage, and he did it in 12 fewer games than Phil Jackson, who is now the second fastest. Congratulations to the Little General.
Avery may have gotten lucky by coming in to coach an already established, winning team, but ...

Rankings updates
Blazers Blog —
Monday morning means new NBA power rankings. The Trail Blazers are ranked at No. 22 (down from No. 16) on ESPN.com, No. 14 (unchanged) in John Hollinger's PER rankings, No. 19 (down from No. 16) at NBA.com, No. 20 (up from No. 25) at SI.com. I find it odd that, after losing three straight games in embarrassing fashion (a blowout, a 25-point comeback by one of the worst teams in the NBA, another blowout), that the Blazers would actually move up in Marty Burn's SI.com rankings. He must be doing his a week in advance.

... - 3 The much-anticipated Maurice Ager vs. Bruce Bowen small-forward showdown was a decisive victory for Ager. Five points apiece, but Ager dominated the assist (3-0) category. Oh, and the Mavericks won. ESPN - 2 No argument here: Dallas has looked pretty average on more than one occasion. The Mavs have, however, won their three biggest games so far: opening night in Cleveland and home Ws over Houston and San Antonio. Hopefully Dallas' RPI doesn't hurt them . . . Week in Review: Stumbling Mavs happy to return home
Dallas Mavericks —
First of all, I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving holiday and spent it alongside loved ones, as I did. With my mind rested and refreshed from the long weekend, I’m prepared to return to my regular posting schedule and will continue to bring you the latest on Dallas Mavericks basketball as we move into the holiday season. I’d also like to send a special thanks to my partner Matt for keeping Showboating as up-to-date as possible.
The Dallas Mavericks had an off-day last Thursday sandwiched between two back-to-backs. While I’m positive that the team would certainly have preferred to be at home with their families on ...
