Betting On The NBA Draft Lottery. Really. [NBA Draft Lottery]
Deadspin — ... We are but a mere two weeks from the NBA Draft Lottery, in which we discover what poor budding NBA superstar is shuttled off to Madison Square Garden. If you can't wait to see what happens, or if you just don't find the shuffling of ping-pong balls as thrilling as perhaps you should, worry not. Now ...

Draft Lottery: Creepin in the minivan
Deceptively Quick — My lazy playoff enjoyment was interrupted today by the realization that the NBA Draft Lottery is nearly upon us. I'm am a very loyal fan of this. I thank the League every year around this time for applying the law of large numbers probability to a small individual set of random drawings. Last season, obviously this worked out as Portland cashed in a 5.3% of getting the top pick. This time around the odds of that top pick have shrunk to 6/1,000, but the beauty of the system means our chances of seeing some sort of "unlikely" shit are pretty decent. ...

The Sunday Click -- Whose Destiny Is It?
Fan Voice: Recent Topics in The Court Reporters: The NBA.com Blog — ... DRAFT DILEMMA Scott Howard- Cooper of the Sacramento Bee looks at the potential irony of the Grizzlies getting the top pick in the Draft at Tuesday's Lottery ... The draft lottery is Tuesday and: • Anyone with a cruel streak is rooting for the Grizzlies to get the No. 1 pick. They have the fourth-best odds to get there and, if the complicated process breaks right at NBA Entertainment headquarters in Secaucus, N.J., the first-best chance for a nervous breakdown. The dilemma? The Grizzlies have a much greater roster need for power forward Michael Beasley than hometown ...

Fast forward to this year and I did not even realize it is tonight until roughly 20 minutes ago. How great is that? Just something to keep in mind as the Celtics play in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. ...

Deadspin — ... "Ping Pong Balls And A Dream" is what NBA.com is calling it, and hey, who can't get excited about that? There's no obvious No. 1 and No. 2 like Oden and Durant last year, though certainly Derrick Rose is going to make someone awfully happy. True Hoop has a good ...

Rant of the Day
The Rogue Hour — ... Now see that's the shit I'm talking about. How the fuck do the Bucks drop to the 8th spot in the draft when we were all lined up to be 5th or better!!?? And then the Bulls of all teams jumps up to number 1???!!!! Is it bad karma for hiring their ex-coach!? Maybe some of those Bill Simmon's draft conspiracy scenarios are true after all. ...

All Hail The Pathos Of The NBA Draft Lottery [Ten Humans]
Deadspin — ... Last year was a particularly great one: The Bulls somehow lucked into Derrick Rose, and we got to watch someone named Steve Schanwald, executive vice president for basketball operations, display his balding middle aged white guy pumped-up face. This was legitimately the closest Steve Schanwald will ever come to any semblance of athletic activity, and it was glorious: He looks like a guy who just pulled out an amazing final-round victory at Trivia Night at Applebee's. The only reason Schanwald was there in the first place was because the Bulls had such small odds to win the top ...
