Dear Hype.... a perm would NOT make it through the sweat of an NBA game. But I agree, that would be hilarious.

A perm is when you chemically straighten your hair. It's kind of a long process, so it would be a waste for an NBA player because he'd just go and junk it up with all the sweat. But it sure would be a sight.

Or to curl your hair. I got a perm nearly every year from 1980 to 1990, which then took another half decade of hair rehab to undo all the damage.

Truuuue, my bad, I was just talking about perms for black hair, a perm can be curly too. A curly perm would be ok through sweat and washing, right?

Not sure that a curly perm is ok in any condition, but yes, sweat and washing did not seem to make them any more or less silly.

If anyone watched game 1 of Suns/Lakers, your perm wishes were granted. Turiaf's stuff was straight. So much so that one Laker fan quipped: "Ronny looks like a Pekinese [sic]."

If it's even possible, Turiaf's afropuff was more bulbuous in the season finale at Sacramento. It was frightening.

There's a pic of Turiaf in the blog post -- his hair is definitely not straight! But the Pekinese comment is classic.

No, in the pic in the blog Ronny isn't workin the perm. But search Getty images for picture #73956160. It's a pre-game 1 picture of him.

Sure you do. If you've ever seen James Brown or Al Sharpton, you know what a perm looks like.
