| 2007-08 NBA power rankings, rating the entire league from top to bottom. It's the off-season right now, though most key NBA free agents have found homes, so unless big trades get made most teams are pretty set for next season. The InsideHoops.com power NBA rankings focus mostly on how good a team really is, taking their recent level of play into partial account. Of course, since it's the ...

Fiddlin' and Diddlin' on 8/9
LOY's PLACE a celtics green blog — ... In their new Power Rankings, Inside Hoops puts the Celtics at #9 behind the Spurs, Suns, Mavs, Jazz, Rockets, Cavs, Bulls and Pistons. We were at 29 in their last rankings so I guess a leap of 20 spots is a good thing. Boston Celtics (24-58) - The previous InsideHoops.com power ranking from two months ago for the Celtics was 29. Ray Allen just had ankle surgeries, but he should be OK, and consider that he did extremely well playing hurt last year. Pierce and KG are superstars. And they're all smart players with basketball brains. Let me (InsideHoops.com editor Jeff Lenchiner) stand in the corner on offense and I'll pour in open threes as long as I can stand still and keep my feet set. And find a center. Bu ...

Spurs Top Preseason Rankings
San Antonio Spurs Dynasty — ... , followed by Phoenix, Dallas, Utah, Houston, Denver, Los Angeles and Oakland. They really didn't add much to their team. Why? Because the foreign legion team of Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan is still the best. (Yes, Duncan is from the Virgin Islands, but they're foreign to me!) Depth, youth and experience makes them the blueprint franchise. The Spurs are also top-ranked on InsideHoops.com, ...

Power Rankings Suck
HoopsBlogging — I used to love ‘em, but now they’re starting to get on my nerves. Yeah, I’m talking about Power Rankings - the insight that everybody feels they have to give in order to gain some credibility. NBA.com has their view, ESPN has theirs, Inside Hoops has another, Sporting News experts give another take, DIME Magazine dish out their thoughts, and so on. Everybody seems that it’s worth taking the time to rank the teams from top to bottom even though every expert knows that their ranking means absolutely ...
