Lakers Blog —
Every morning, it's important to accentuate the positive. The Lakers are 17-2 , and have opened up a four game lead over the Blazers and Chauncified Nuggets in the Western Conference. That's a pretty decent margin before hitting the quarter pole on the season. They're winning at a historically good rate measured against the standards of a franchise that wins at a historically good rate. This Trevor Ariza fellow is working out well. So when the Lakers tip off tonight at Arco , where the Kings no longer win with regularity , against a still-limping Sacramento squad (Kevin Martin? Still out, says the Sacramento Bee.) there will be ...
Taking a look at Gordon and Deng
Tremendous Upside Potential —
A few quick notes from yesterday's Bulls win, though I didn't even really watch it cause I was working. 1) Ben Gordon is just playing out of his mind right now. My distaste for him is well documented, but I don't think I've ever seen BG7 more effective than this year. That four point play yesterday was the most ridiculously clutch thing I've seen in Chicago sports since....I don't even know. But the point is, that play was completely absurd yet so necessary. It single-handidly gave the Bulls a win they needed to have (now a game ahead of the 6ers for the eight seed in the East, eat a bowl of it, Brian!). Gordon's stats are up virtually ...

Out of the three divisions in the Eastern Conference, Portland posted the best record against the Central (8-2), losing twice to Cleveland. * The Blazers were 32-20 against the West. Of the West's Top 8 last season, five teams had a better record against ...
