Published 10/26/2007 by MariusJanulisForThree at Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician
... The initial college basketball ESPN/USAToday Coaches Poll has been released and Syracuse just misses the cut as the theoretical #27 team. North Carolina eeks out UCLA by five votes to take the #1 spot while Memphis, Kansas and Georgetown round out the top five. Also from the Big East, Louisville is #6, Marquette is #12, Pittsburgh is #20 and Villanova is #25. Syracuse is the 2nd team out from the poll and UConn isn't far behind them. Notre Dame received one vote, begging the question "When did Beano Cook start voting for basketball?" ...

No Buckeye Or Gator In The Top 25
Published 10/27/2007 by Cherie at TSD Magazine
It is so close to the college basketball season. The ESPN/USA Today Coaches polls came out today and the top 3 teams are within 8 points of each other. The two teams that met in the championship game this past April, the Ohio State Buckeyes and the champion Florida Gators, are not in the polls. But when you look at the others receiving votes section, we could say that they would be ranked 28th. Anyway, here is the list of the polls. Where does your favorite team rank? ...

I know how exciting football has been, but don't forget that our basketball team is pretty good, too. #13 to be exact. We'll have our season preview up on Sunday. But hoops season starts Friday. That's right, the men's basketball team has their first exhibition against Division II St. Martin's. If your in Eugene and have nothing better to do, check out the team. And if you do, please give us a report of the game in our diaries section. ...
College Ball’s Most Overrated Squads
Published 11/2/2007 by Andrew Katz at NBA Rumors - Trades - Free Agents - Basketball Olympics - Dime Magazine
It’s easy to get wrapped up in the NBA, especially during opening week, but hoop heads know there’s less than a week to go until the tip of the college basketball season. Heading in, some squads are getting more than their fair share of love, and others not enough. This morning, we’re looking at the most overrated teams in the ESPN/USA Today Top 25 Poll . Though the early season schedule looks like a collective cakewalk for the nation’s premier teams, some of these rankings lack substance. No-14 Gonzaga: The Bulldogs lost their most efficient player in Derek Raivio from an ...
Young Buckeyes Look To Continue Growing
Published 11/6/2007 by Corey at Eleven Warriors
... Thad’s young team was left out of the preseason polls, after losing 76 percent of their offense from last year. I don’t think Thad is getting enough credit for his coaching and recruiting, so I can’t wait to see how he molds this group into a top ten team. How long will it take the haters to rise up when this team is in the top ten by the first of the year? ...
