“The guys have been very warm and welcoming to me, so it was nice to skate back to the bench and see a bunch of guys smiling and reaching out for me,” Shanahan said. “You always want to do that for your teammates.”
The Devils are happy to have Shanahan, who cost little money and no players. But now, as they face the Montreal Canadiens Wednesday night at the Prudential Center before heading into the All-Star break, they wonder if general manager Lou Lamoriello has more up his sleeve.
