NEW UNIFORMS For Better Or Worse, The New Uniforms Are Now Official
The Tampa Bay Devil Rays found a way to piss off 360 of their 522 fans. Yesterday, they unveiled their new uniforms. First and foremost is the change from "Devil Rays" to "Rays". This screams boring and unnecessary. David Chalk, who covers the Rays over at Bugs & Cranks is campaigning his editors to keep using the moniker "Devil Rays" and we couldn't agree more. [link]

NOTE: Remember, it’s the Tampa Bay “Rays” now. The organization dropped “Devil” from their name at the end of last season. They’ll be wearing new uniforms as well. Will Scott Kazmir still be with the team? ...

If you're going to play like 'chit, you might as well look good doing it!

... The Devil Rays no longer want to have anything 'Devil' associated with them. They just want to be known as the Rays. If they think that will help them compete with the Red Sox and the Yankees I give them credit. It would be good for baseball if they were no longer the doormat of Major League Baseball. They've also added new uniforms. It's a nice touch, no doubt. ...

... Along with the name change came new uniforms, which were unveiled in a ceremony that lasted longer (2 days) than the Red Sox World Series celebration (1 day) and featured the musical styling of Kevin Costner. It could have been worse. We could have been subjected to Tom Petty reenacting his role in "The Postman" ... Green is out. Dark blue, Carolina Blue and Yellow are in. The team's logo has now been ...
