The Globe and Mail's William Houston says that, despite the NHL's rise in popularity over the past year or two, and the star-studded nature of the Detroit Red Wings-Pittsburgh Penguins series, the newspaper interest in the series is slim: May 23, Globe and Mail : Outside Pittsburgh and Detroit, only eight American dailies will staff the series from start to finish. Representation by Canadian newspapers will be just as slim.
