Colts working on contract with DE Freeney

... The Colts have yet to work out a long-term contract extension with defensive end Dwight Freeney, on whom they placed a franchise tag. He has not signed the one-year tender that would pay him a guaranteed $9.43 million because he and his agents are hopeful they will sign a much more lucrative multi-year agreement before the NFL-imposed July 15 deadline. Freeney has at least shown goodwill by attending a three-day mandatory minicamp (under league rules, he was prohibited from participating because he has not signed the tender).
