NFL Events: Draft Player Profiles - Chris Johnson Links7
Overview Overview Few teams in the collegiate or professional ranks have such an explosive and versatile weapon as the Pirates boast with Chris Johnson. Fully recovered from turf toe that hampered him in 2006 and neck surgery during the 2007 off-season, Johnson established himself as the premier all-purpose back in the NCAA Division 1-A ranks during his final campaign. Johnson, Jones are Titans after unpredictable first day of draft
Published 4/27/2008 by spOiler at Titans Tracker
... East Carolina running back Chris Johnson was the first player selected by the Tennessee Titans in today’s draft. I’m very happy the Titans drafted this speedy playmaker, but I’m surprised he was drafted in the first round. However, after no wide receivers were selected before Johnson, I have to trust Titans management in their estimation that receivers Devin Thomas and company were not worthy of a first round pick. ...

Recapping the Titans’ draft
Published 4/28/2008 by Andrew Strickert at Total Titans
... It was certainly a mixed bag of draftees for the Titans this weekend. It’s a group that has drawn both kudos and criticism and the fan reaction here on Total Titans has mirrored that. Round 1, Pick 24 (24): RB Chris Johnson , East Carolina This is not only the most visible pick but also the one that’s drawn the most controversy. Depending on your point of view, the Titans either scored a touchdown or fumbled with this one. If you’re a guy who was looking for a speedy playmaker, this was the fastest guy in the draft and a guy with the potential to be an offensive weapon ...

Titans select East Carolina RB Chris Johnson in 1st Round

With the 24th pick of the 2008 NFL Draft, the Titans defied conventional wisdom, eschewing their choice of top wide receivers to select Johnson in the first round.

2008 NFL Draft: 1.24 Chris Johnson, RB, Tennessee Titans
The first real shocker of the draft. The Titans, with plenty of needs, take a running back that was projected as a 2nd rounder by almost everyone. RB Chris Johnson is a home run hitter; but for as special as his breakaway speed may be, he’s got lots of limitations which make him hard to project as a full-time starter down the road. The Titans got good productivity from Lendale White ...
East Carolina representing in Round 1 of the NFL Draft
With the 24th pick of the draft, the Tennessee Titans selected Chris Johnson of East Carolina! I think this surprised the shit out of everybody! As an East Carolina alumni, I knew he was great, but the rest of the country is probably like, WTF?.... Who is Chris Johnson? *He did run a 4.25 at the combine, the fastest of anyone. At 197 pounds, there are concerns about ...
Titans Sure Love to Draft Running Backs
It's become the trend that every NFL team wants to have two good running backs, but does any team need three? Tennessee's decision to take East Carolina's Chris Johnson with their first-round pick is the third time Tennessee has taken a running back in the first two rounds in the past three years. Either the Titans feel like they missed on Lendale White and/or Chris Henry, or they're ...
24. Tennessee Titans Take Chris Johnson, East Carolina, in NFL Draft
East Carolina running back Chris Johnson was the fastest player at this year's scouting combine, and he's one of the fastest players in the history of the combine. That's the good news. The bad news is that he doesn't break tackles. He simply won't take a handoff and go straight up the gut, and that's something he's going to need to learn how to do in the NFL. Still, this guy has such ...
Titans Fans Are Taking The Draft Quite Well
To say the Tennessee Titans had a bad draft would be putting it kindly. Their first round pick of ECU's Chris Johnson made little sense considering they drafted Chris Henry last year. They also desperately need a wide receiver to help Vince Young out, and instead of grabbing someone early, they waited until the 4th round to get their first receiver - Levelle Hawkins. Even worse, or more ...

Johnson Shuffles Backfield in Music City
Fantasy FanHouse will be chiming in throughout the NFL draft with analysis of each fantasy relevant pick. Apparently Jeff Fisher was feeling like his backfield was bare with the departure of the unexciting Chris Brown, because -- for the third year in a row -- the Titans have selected a running back early in their draft. Now Fisher has Chris Johnson at his disposal along with LenDale White ...

Random notes from the slackening, flabby midsection of the first day of the draft. --In between picks, the PA announcer plays geographically relevant music. The San Diego Chargers, of course. --Tennessee just picked Chris Johnson, and thank goodness for that--the humdrum competence of all that preceded ...
Pick #24 - Tennessee Titans - Chris Johnson, RB, East Carolina
I thought the Titans would go with a WR here to give Vince Young some much needed help, but instead they took Chris Johnson to pair up with LenDale White. Johnson is a little guy, but at the scouting combine he ran a 4.24 40-yard dash. It doesn't matter that he's small if no one can catch him, right? I still am a little surprised with this choice though, since Kiper didn't see him going to
Chris Johnson
Love Chris Johnson. I don't get the fit though. They have White, Henry and now Johnson. I hated Henry last year this might be a certain admittance than he's a bust. Johnson does have a lot of value as a WR. He's a greaty saftey valve type, I compare him to Brian Wesbtrook who helped develop another mobile QB.
Chris Johnson
Hold on, I am not going to blast the Titans pick here because I like Chris Johnson A LOT!!!....he is in the Brian Westbrook mold where he can run and catch the ball....the Titans do need wide receiver help, but I cannot bash this pick....Chris Johnson is going to be a nice pro and a player who will help Vince Young....
Chris Johnson!?
Are They moving him the Wide Receiver? Chris Johnson is pretty much Westbrook Jr. but at the same time, I don't think that is a big need for them, and I wonder if there are going to be any wide receivers left when they pick in the 2nd round.
