Can't Stop The Bleeding —
Better than this one, anyway. Faux Brenda, link courtesy David Williams, who much like many of this afternoon, must be amused to see the Cardinals showcase the Edge in their first home playoff game in 61 years.
BOLDIN HAS A BAD HAMSTRING
ProFootballTalk.com —
At the tail end of a 71-yard catch-and-run, which gave the Cardinals a 14-3 lead over the Falcons in their wild-card playoff game, Arizona receiver Anquan Boldin put his hand on the back of his leg — the classic indication of a hamstring injury. Trainers have been working on Boldin’s leg during the Falcons’ ensuing drive. Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner has completed five of 12 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns. You can follow the action right here ...
Cardinals use big plays to beat Falcons in Wild Card win
The Scores Report - The National Sports Blog —
... That question was answered quickly, as Kurt Warner hit Larry Fitzgerald on a 42-yard flee-flicker touchdown on Arizona’s second possession of the game, as the Cardinals beat the Falcons 30-24 in Glendale. ...
NFC Wild Card Action; Arizona 30, Atlanta 24
Acme Packing Company —
Arizona 30, Atlanta 24.
I haven't watched either of these teams very much this season, but I was surprised that RB Michael Turner didn't have a better game. Then I looked at his stats at Football Outsiders and saw they only had him ranked as the 19th best RB this season. He's had a lot of production this season, but also too many carries. He looked really indecisive trying to find the opening in the defensive line.
In hindsight; this was a bad matchup for Atlanta. Their pass defense is average, and Arizona's pass offense is outstanding. It ...
Cardinals rule
SmackCaster SmackBlog —
The Arizona Cardinals take the next step by downing the Atlanta Falcons. Huge year for the Falcons behind rookie QB Matt Ryan. Have to think given how far the birds have come since the Michael Vick episode so fast they will wind up looking back at this in a great way. As for the Cardinals, it figures to be tough sledding to get past either the Panthers or Giants on the road next week. Can’t even imagine the Cardinals finding a way to win in New Jersey.
By the way, has Cris Collinsworth stopped talking? Okay, he knows his stuff but does he have to provide a commentary on each and every breath and play in the game. So much so that he makes mistakes such as saying ...
The Morning After: January 5, 2009
Sparty and Friends —
Big surprises for everyone this weekend? Not so much? I guess it all depends on whether or not you may have had money on the games. It was definitely a weird feeling though not being into too many of the games. I can’t really say why either. Was it because I was sick? Were you guys into the games? There wasnt too much traffic here over the weekend so it was hard to ...
Boldin Back At Practice
The National Football Post » Hot News and Rumors —
Boldin Back At Practice From NFL.com : Better news for the Cardinals: WR Anquan Boldin returned to practice Friday and is listed as questionable to play in Saturday’s NFC Divisional Playoff Game against the Panthers . Boldin, who left last week’s wild-card victory over the Falcons in the second quarter because of a hamstring injury, missed practice Wednesday and Thursday before coming back to participate in some of Friday’s session. He said Thursday that he wouldn’t seriously test the hamstring until just before kickoff. [image] “We’re just trying to be smart about the entire situation and just see how it feels on Saturday,” Boldin told The Associated ...
Boldin Will Try To Play
The National Football Post » Hot News and Rumors —
Boldin Will Try To Play From NFL.com : [image] Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin is officially listed as questionable on the injury report . However, two team sources told me that the wide receiver is expected to be active Saturday and will attempt to play against the Panthers. Boldin has been sidelined with a strained left hamstring that he injured during a 71-yard touchdown pass (watch video) in Arizona’s win over Atlanta on Wild-Card Weekend. What’s also questionable is just how effective Boldin can be. He took part in the Cardinals’ final walk-through on Friday, and sources said the Cardinals would have to “cut his leg off” to stop Boldin ...
