Breaking down NFC South Power Rankings
ESPN.com - NFL Nation Blog —
Posted by ESPN.com's Pat Yasinskas The newest edition of our Power Rankings are out and the Carolina Panthers remain a top 10 team. The Panthers are No. 10, the best ranking of any team in the NFC South. Despite a loss to Minnesota, the ranking is justified. The Vikings were winless coming into the game, but they were better than that. Carolina showed some flaws that need to be fixed, but the Panthers still are the division's most complete team. The No. 13 Bucs are closing in on the top 10 and an Oct. 12 home game with the Panthers is starting to look very big. Although the injury-plagued Saints are 1-2, ...
Power rankings: On AFC South vs. NFC East, I was wrong
ESPN.com - NFL Nation Blog —
Posted by ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky Words that players and fans seem to love from a sportswriter, and claim they never hear: I was wrong. When I signed on for a preseason piece on why the AFC South would be the best division in football, I wasn't hell bent on the idea and thought the case for the NFC East was as compelling. Just three games in, I don't feel like it's too early to say I was wrong since the top of the power rankings ballot I submitted last night read like this: Dallas NY Giants Philadelphia I grew up in Central Jersey tracking that division, and ...

Power ranking agreement in the NFC North
ESPN.com - NFL Nation Blog —
Posted by ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert Before we get into our weekly breakdown of ESPN.com's weekly power rankings, NFC North style, a word about my vote on Indianapolis. As you can see over on Mike Sando's NFC West blog, I dragged the Colts down to No. 12 overall by ranking them No. 23 on my ballot. The Colts had the second-highest disparity among voters. I know it's a low vote for Tony Dungy, Peyton Manning, et al, but I'm OK with it. The Colts are one of the bigger mysteries in the NFL right now, having lost two games at home and needing a near-miracle to defeat Minnesota at the Metrodome. I don't see them as a ...
The NFC East is a Beast: ESPN NFL Power Rankings
All Things Philly Sports —
I don't normally take too much stock in the ESPN Power Rankings but their Week 4 rankings reflect how dominant the NFC East has been this season: ESPN has ranked the Cowboys first, the Giants second and the Eagles third. It's not only a statement about how good those three teams have looked, it's also difficult to argue with. Who in the NFL has been better this season? The Colts are 1-2. The Patriots have fallen mightily. The Steelers got manhandled by the Eagles last week. The Bills and Titans haven't proven anything yet. With the Cowboys beating the Packers last week, there isn't anyone else in the NFC who measures up. Need more ...
