... (with thanks to Michael Burnett). … Accoding to this story, the Rams wanted to wear 1999 throwbacks this fall but were turned down by the league because they didn’t start the paperwork early enough. They’re also planning to wear a memorial patch for Georgia Frontiere (with thanks to Mike Engle). ...

Rams Want to Wear Throwbacks, Forget to Submit Proper Paperwork in Timely Fashion
Published 4/7/2008 by Ryan Wilson at FanHouse
... can't blame the Rams for wanting to turn back the clock nine years. In 1999, they won the Super Bowl after a 13-3 record, and averaged almost 11 wins a season from 2000-2003. In the four years since, they're eking out just over six wins a season and in 2007, managed only three. So, yeah, bust out the time machine. The plan was to wear the 1999 throwback jerseys for the regular-season opener, but NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, in all his ruthlessness, nixed the plan. "There were a number of things that we couldn't get past," [Rams owner Chip] ...

Throwback this!
Published 4/8/2008 by VanRam <info@turfshowtimes.com> at Turf Show Times
Kind of a bummer about the league rejecting the Rams request to wear the 1999 throwbacks for the season opener this year. He also shared some thoughts about the Detroit Lions, the team that fired him after the 2007 season. ''In Detroit we were not a good football team,'' Martz said. ''We were last in the NFL on ...

Coach This! NFL Head Coach Hotseat

Can you tell that I'm bored? No? I didn't think so, cause I'm not. Thanks to John Clayton's piece on the NFL Coaches Hot Seat, I found a new topic to swan dive into. Simply put, I couldn't find myself agreeing 100% with Mr. Clayton's perspective of the five coaches he put on his hot seat, so I'm putting in a few of my own. John Fox, Carolina I agree with this decision mainly because of ...

Sheeeit, I Didn't Have Anything To Do With That

Mike Martz wasted no time in throwing the Detroit Lions under the bus . “In Detroit we were not a good football team,” said Mike Martz, who joined San Francisco after he was fired as the Lions’ offensive coordinator. “We were last in the NFL on defense and when you have to throw the football to win, that’s not a good thing. We weren’t good enough on the offensive line to protect him and ...
