The Prelude, Week 8: Goodell's International Folly
Published 10/26/2007 by Matt Ufford at FanHouse
Filed under: NFL FansI once had a job where a common piece of feedback was "Good idea, bad execution." It was a way for supervisors to encourage careful planning while still demanding more effort from those of us in middle management. The saying came to mind this week as I thought about Sunday's Dolphins-Giants game in London. The only problem is, Roger Goodell flipped the script: an overseas regular-season NFL game is a terrible idea, but it will in all likelihood be executed flawlessly, providing the commissioner with dollar amounts and business data that he'll use to support more NFL games in foreign ...

Sports this weekend
Published 10/26/2007 by Gilbert at Obscure Sports Quarterly
Last night’s World Series game was tough. I’m not even a true Rockies fan (just a bandwagoner) and it was still painful. As sports fans, we really need the Rockies to comeback. The Red Sox winning another World Series would turn them into a Yankee-type franchise. And we certainly don’t need one of those. Here’s your weekend sports listings. As usual, only sports I follow are included (no auto racing, sorry). All times are Pacific and I list only games on national TV networks. FRIDAY 4:30 p.m., exhibition, Cavaliers vs. Celtics (ESPN) 6 p.m., Boise State at Fresno State (ESPN2) 7 p.m., exhibition, Lakers vs. Kings (ESPN) S ATURDAY 9 a.m., ...

... He won't play. Jason said he doesn't expect to play, though Rogers, Washington, and Rabach are all probable. For a detailed report on injured Patriots, check out Pats Pulpit. Don't get too excited seeing Tom Brady listed for his shoulder; he's always listed for his shoulder. America will be watching this matchup, and only Sean Taylor can save us from the beast that is Tom Brady: Taken from NFL.com. Also, insert snarky comment. PS: Tom Brady is a bad person. AND he's not buying Coach Gibbs "underdog" theme, per AOL ...

Can The Redskins Beat The Patriots?

I know that Joe Gibbs is ultra conservative. I know that Tom Brady is a f*cking beast on and off the field. And I know that the Skins are 16.5 point underdogs this Sunday. But that being said, I think the Redskins can pull the upset. I really do.

Scalping the Redskins Wire (10/27)

The Redskins clearly are the underdogs this weekend and currently sit as 16.5 point underdogs. Although players like London Fletcher and Carlos Rogers were surprised, they offered no incentive words to fire up New England. They’ll play the game on the field instead. There not talking much at all, and that’s a good thing.
