Though cancelling the game seems a little harsh, there are proponents of that route in the NHL headquarters. At the very least, it would appear the skills competition is going to become a victim of the changes once the league figures out what direction it wants to take. The building was full, and while the TV ratings weren't anything to write home about , it's my understanding there was plenty of corporate support for yesterday's game in Atlanta. If you remember, last season's All Star game was held mid-week. This season's slight rise in rating probably has to do with the fact it was on the Sunday before the Super Bowl, where there was no major competition.
