MVN's Mining the Gold Rush breaks down the positives and negatives of the 49ers and their second day draft picks. Which picks were good? Which ones were bad? Does Reggie Smith belong on the team? How about Cody Wallace and Josh Morgan? Will they be fighting for a roster spot? Does Larry Grant provide an answer for the 49ers?Posted 4/27/2008 on 49ersNews.com
The 49ers have officially closed the book on the 2008 NFL Draft. On day two the 49ers continued to add depth to both sides of the ball. In the 3rd round the 49ers selected corner Reggie Smith out of Oklahoma. Reggie will compete for a starting spot, most likely against Walt Harris & Shawntae Spencer. There is also talk that Reggie may compete at the safety spot as well. In the 4th ...Posted 4/27/2008 on The 3rd String Safety

I know you often see offensive lineman getting shuffled around so maybe they'll see what they can do with Wallace along the rest of the ...Posted 4/27/2008 on 49ersNews.com
With the 7th pick of the 4th round (107th overall) the 49ers select center Cody Wallace out of Texas A&M. Overview One of the strongest centers in the college game, Wallace boasts a 480-pound bench press, a 374-pound hang clean and a school record 740-pound squat. He combines a good blend of power and short-area explosiveness to be a violent blocker along the line of scrimmage. His ...Published 4/27/2008 on Redskins Insider
Might be a little high to take Hampton DL Marcus Dixon. Other DL like Guion from Floridat State and Dre Moore of Maryland could interest the Skins here as well. Safeties like Kareem Moore and Thomas Decoud remain on the board. Most of the corners ...carty64 posted 4/14/2008 from myespn.go.com
