Blog Poll - NL Awards (week 6)
Published 5/14/2008 by Lee Panas (noreply@blogger.com) at Tiger Tales: A Detroit Tigers Blog
David Bloom has the results of his weekly blog poll up at Baseball Happenings. Each week a group of bloggers (including myself) votes on the the MVP, Cy Young and Rookie of the Year awards based on season results up through that week. This week we did the National League and the leaders are listed below. The complete results can be found at Baseball Happenings. One thing that struck me as I filled out my ballot yesterday was how many National Leaguers and how few American Leaguers are having big offensive seasons. The top 10 OPS and 24 of the top 30 OPS in the majors belong to ...

... are both 1 for 2 against Maholm, each hit a double, and Albert Pujols has slapped him around for 3 hits, one a HR, and 3 walks in 12 plate appearances. Whoever produces at the plate (and gets results on the mound), the Cards need it. A loss tonight not only means a sunken series against the Pirates, it potentially heralds a looming rewrite of what was looking to be an enjoyable season. ### The Baseball Happenings week 6 blog poll results for the NL are up. ... in mind Jurrjens is only 22 years old and is essentially getting by on two pitches. In other words, when Jurrjens figures it out, we are looking at an excellent pitcher for years to come. I’m confident Votto is receiving this vote because he is a Canadian. To this point, his performance has been nice, however not outstanding. Although the fact that Dusty has seen enough in Votto to move him up in the lineup does say a lot and should go a long way for the kid’s future in the league. Check out the entire vote from Week 6 in the National League. Feel free to leave comments and ...
