"Costas Now," the sports news and interview show, which returns to HBO tomorrow at 9 p.m. EDT, may attract viewers in record numbers -- but Bob Costas isn't sure he wants all of them. "I'd like everyone interested in sports to tune in," he says, "but if all they're looking for is a repeat of 'Bissinger vs. Leitch' I'd just as soon they watched something else." [link]

Commack's own Bob Costas was kind enough to invite me to his latest sports-related town hall meeting, which debuts on HBO Wednesday night and focuses on various aspects of the national pastime. I politely declined, because I have other plans and because I feared Buzz Bissinger might show up unannounced, thus triggering another round of my nightmares about his April 29 tirade.
