Not a Rookie: Corey Hart Links6
Not a Rookie: Corey Hart Corey Hart was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 11th round in 2000, out of high school in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Drafted as a first baseman, he wasn't a hot prospect on draft day, but the Brewers liked his height (6-6), power potential, and athleticism. He held his own in rookie ball, hitting .287/.332/.366 in 216 at-bats for Ogden in the Pioneer League. That ... [link]

Sickels: Not a Rookie: Corey Hart

Sickels: Not a Rookie: Corey Hart Corey Hart: The Singles, Doubles and More! I expect this to continue. While I don’t think he will ever be a walk machine, he doesn’t need to be. He doesn’t strike out that much for a guy with power, and I like his multi-skills. When Hart was just starting out he was compared to Richie Sexson due to his size and wingspan. I don’t think Hart will produce the kind of home run power Sexson did at his peak, but Hart is faster and move valuable defensively, and he does have some untapped power upside. It’s also possible he could stay where he is ...

Today: 161 ounces! But, it's still going to be short...there's just not much out there today. Corey Hart, though, is getting all kinds of love today. First, there was the Minor League Ball piece mentioned below. Then, Baseball Digest Daily did a profile of him as well. We're also starting to see a small movement develop for Manny Parra. As it should. A different kind of movement is pending for Lou Palmisano. He will have knee surgery and be out about 3 months. No Bias Baseball has a preview of the NL ...

2008 NL Central Preview: Milwaukee Brewers

... Regarding the Brewers' hitters - I've said this for at least four years in a row, but I like them a lot. Fielder and Braun are already so good as hitters that it's hard to see them getting much better, and they each may go backward a bit next year. But take Hart, for example - his top PECOTA comps include Dave Winfield, Sammy Sosa, Andre Dawson, Joe Carter and Ellis Burks. He has an exciting skillset that includes hitting for contact, hitting for power, good fielding, and excellent athleticism for a player his size. He hit .295/.353/.539 last ...
