... Royals Tuesday after posting an 18.69 ERA over just three relief appearances. The club designated the 39-year-old reliever for assignment on April 20th and requested unconditional release waivers five days later. Nomo didn't always suck, though. He was the 1995 NL Rookie of the Year with the Los Angeles Dodgers and has two career no-hitters under his belt. Also, his 123 wins are the most in the majors by a Japanese pitcher.
