Bobby Murcer, a former New York Yankees outfielder and a team announcer on the YES Network, is recovering from a brain biopsy performed to see if his cancer has returned. Murcer, 61, had a malignant brain tumor removed in 2006. During his 17 seasons, Murcer faced the impossible task of replacing two of the game's greatest center fielders. First, he was asked to replace Yankee legend Mickey Mantle at that spot in 1969. Adding to the comparisons was that, like Mantle, Murcer was from Oklahoma.
