RedsArmy If you've given up like Denver clearly has... then I say trade everyone and completely start over. Melo to Detroit for Rip and some other pieces to make the numbers work. Rip's contract ends 2 years sooner but he's still a very good player. 'Melo is 6 years younger and he makes Detroit more potent offensively.
Denver's got to realize its going nowhere as currently constituted... so blow it up now... get yourself some space, good young players, and draft picks.... and try to do what Portland and the former Sonics are doing.

Ben Q. Rock The fact that the Nuggets moved Camby for a lemon-flavoured lollypop and a Brad Davis rookie card would indicate that they are not in WIN-NOW mode.
I lol'd.

billlegarm Iverson is an interesting case. Can he play with another star and win? I don't know. He seems like one of those players who's at his best when he's in a position where he has to put an average team on his back and carry them. -
AJ Vaynerchuk No reason to hang on to Iverson. Get as much value as you can before the season starts and move on. -
BadenBall It'd be kind of funny if he went back to philly for andre miller. retire as a sixer, just a thought.-
mookie Well... if Denver is on the rebuilding path, it would make sense for them to get a guy like Miller. AI in the rejigged Sixers outfit with Brand would be a solid contender, or at least a scary team.

The Fundamentals

... where these two guys are concerned. So much has been made here about Josh Smith and how his summer is playing out (more about that in a minute), but what of Josh Childress? He is absolutely considering an offer to play overseas, Olympiakos in Greece, this season (as first reported last night by Yahoo! Sports) with the Hawks having no right to match an offer from an overseas team. This is getting nuts. How in the world has it come to this for the Hawks and their own free agents?” Chris Tomasson of The Rocky Mountain News : “Marcus Camby has been shown to the city line. Could ...

... The Nuggets are looking to continue their cost cutting spree. After giving away Marcus Camby for a second round draft pick, word is that the Nuggets would trade Allen Iverson, Kenyon Martin or Nene, if anybody wanted them. Iverson has the most trade value with an expiring $20.84 million contract, he would be valuable to a team looking to clear salary-cap room for next summer. If the Nuggets, like every other team in the league, want to try to clear cap space for the summer of 2010, when LeBron and several other key stars will be free agents, then it might make sense for them ...

Allen Iverson could be traded too?

... Rocky Mountain News - Indications are the Nuggets would trade Iverson if the deal was right. They’d also trade Kenyon Martin or Nene, if anybody wanted either. And owner Stan Kroenke would be willing to deal the Rocky Mountains if he owned them and it would keep him from paying the luxury tax. ...

... playoff time. Second, Denver can keep Iverson for the coming season, allow his contract to expire, and acquire new players via trades or free agency. Third, Denver can trade Iverson and rebuild under this option, they ll seek expiring contracts, draft picks, prospects, and emerging stars. Fourth, Denver can trade Iverson for an established star. The Nuggets will swap their tiny guard for another co-star to play with Carmelo Anthony. It s unclear what the Mile High City will do. The club is apparently exploring all options . Whatever they decide, Denver must consider ...
Is A.I. on the Block?

The Denver Nuggets have seemingly learned from the PR nightmare the Carmelo Anthony trade rumors from earlier this summer turned into, not to mention Marcus Camby calling the front-office “classless” on his way out of town.
I say they’ve learned from these things, because we’ve barely heard a word about them apparently being open to the possibility of trading away Allen Iverson.
Let’s turn to the Rocky Mountain News for the murky details:
Marcus Camby has been shown ...

The fact that the Nuggets moved Camby for a lemon-flavoured lollypop and a Brad Davis rookie card would indicate that they are not in WIN-NOW mode. So there is no reason to hang onto AI, unless of course they have some deal right around the corner in which they are about to use that big trade exception...?
