The father of one of the victims said he believes that Heath never contacted the police about the burglary to protect the current players. The items have not been recovered and no charges were filed. South Florida Basketball Reported for NCAA Violations
Kentucky Sports Radio —
heath Our ol’ buddy Stan Heath could be in trouble at USF . According to FanHouse, the Bulls have been reported for “numerous” NCAA violations. While that sounds quite ominous, here are the particular infractions summarized for your reading pleasure– -The Bulls’ A/V guy gave a player a ride home from the store -Same A/V guy allegedly drove same player (Gus Gilchrist) home from Tampa to Maryland and took him to a couple Magic games in Orlando -Prior to this season, coaches (including former UK Assistant and Matt Jones’ best friend Jeremy Cox) watched pickup games and ...

South Florida outed by former coaches and players; rules likely violated
College Hoops Journal —
... Last night, Fanhouse reported that a conditioning coach, a guy by the name of Terrelle Woody, has helped out players in some capacity or another. Some things involve frequent rides around campus (as silly as it sounds, that’s a no-no) and coaches watching over unsanctioned practices; an open gym session that involves more than four players playing hoop while coaches are in the gym. ...

... before his very eyes? Former USF beat writer for the Tampa Tribune Brett McMurphy reports in a Fanhouse exclusive that Numerous NCAA Violations have Surfaced at South Florida under Heath’s watch. According to the report by McMurphy, most of the NCAA violations involve USF video and conditioning assistant Terrelle Woody, who was hired August 26th of 2008 to a non-coaching position by Heath as part of a package deal to guarantee the signing of highly touted Maryland transfer Augustus Gilchrist. Besides the alleged violations, three current USF players — Dominique Jones, ...

... AOL Fanhouse reported yesterday that there is an ongoing pattern of NCAA rules violations at South Florida, according to various former assistant coaches and players of the program under Stan Heath. Many of the alleged violations involve strength and conditioning assistant Terrelle Woody, who was hired in part to ensure the recruitment of Gus Gilchrist to the program in 2008. The allegations include unauthorized “open gyms” during dead periods, a cover-up of a burglary involving current players, and the providing of excessive free ...

... , but the conference team I can’t stand the most is USF. In terms of a rivalry, it’s going to be hard to top the last two games. If you had mid-November in the annual USF NCAA violations lottery, it’s time to collect your prize. There’s just such a stark contrast between the two athletic departments in all aspects that I can’t think of a better villain in-conference. I used to admire how far they had come in so little time, but now all I have is scorn. ...

... Stan Heath has some issues, the kind that
could get his University of South Florida men's basketball program in
trouble with the NCAA. According to AOL Fanhouse, USF has violated
"numerous NCAA rules over the past months." This, according to a former
USF assistant coach, former USF players and "other school sources." So,
what are these egregious NCAA violations that have coach Heath in a
world of trouble? Apparently, a video and conditioning assistant
provided improper transportation to a current USF player and oversaw open-gym workouts. People these days, with their ...

... Still, Mike Scott should have a monster game, and if they have Fields, we have Landesberg. This is a very, very winnable contest. If we want to play in any kind of a postseason tournament, this is a terrific opportunity to prove we're more than just a team that beats up on sub-majors and mid-majors. We're 3-1, which is a nice start (and the way things are going in South Florida, we might get that other one back eventually as far as the record books are concerned) and well on our way, I think, to doing what we need to do in order to get into the postseason in some ...
USF Hoops Under Investigation & Anthony Crater Suspended

... based on multiple accusations of impropriety that the same outlet reported two weeks ago. South Florida's Anthony Crater suspended as the NCAA begins their investigation in the program
Ballin' is a Habit —
There are going to be a lot of questions thrown at Stan Heath in the coming weeks as a result of the investigation into alleged violations at South Florida under his watch. More on the investigation in a second. The bigger issue may be the kind of players Heath has been bringing into the program. Let's start with Anthony Crater. Crater, a native of Flint, MI, has had issues since he enrolled at Ohio State last season. Just ten games into his freshman season, Crater left the Buckeyes in large part because he wasn't being used in the role he ...
