Antonio Pierce Out Indefinitely

In what can only be considered bad news, Antonio Pierce is out indefinitely with a bulging disc in his neck. Mike Garafolo is reporting it.
Well this is tough to swallow. The entire defense was finally back together for exactly zero games. The excitement over the return of Aaron Ross is now negated by this huge blow to the team’s defensive leader.
I don’t have any medical experience, but bulging discs usually are not good. As per Garafolo’s article:

... New York Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce will be sidenlined for an indefenite period of time after an MRI revealed a pinched bulging disc in his neck. Pierce initially suffered the injury in a game October 25th against the Arizona Cardinals.
The Newark-Star Ledger reports that the Giants expect Pierce will be out at least six week if not the entire season.

The test revealed a bulging disc that will keep Pierce out of Sunday's game against the Falcons - and many more. An injury like this is often a season-ending one, though someone familiar with Pierce's injury said the Giants are hopeful the bulging disc will subside a bit and Pierce will be able to return in six weeks or so.
