profootballweekly.com — The Giants top pick in the draft, CB Aaron Ross , said a lot about how the team viewed its LB and OLT positions. Giants Re-Sign Defensive End Adrian Awasom
FanHouse —
... According to ProFootballWeekly.com, the New York Giants have re-signed exclusive rights free agent defensive end Adrian Awasom . Awasom, who will be entering his third NFL season, is now listed as the fourth string defensive end because of Mathias Kiwanuka's switch to linebacker. He will probably see significantly more playing time this season and could potentially play a vital role for New York. It should be noted, however, that if one of three top defensive ends (Michael Strahan, Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck) go down with an injury, Kiwanuka will fill their spot. Last season Awasom played in 10 games and collected 12 tackles and one sack. Financial details were not disclosed.

... . The unrestricted free agent was never given a tender by the team and as of June1st any potential rights the Giants had on him, were gone. Short was not the only one to go. Two other unrestricted free agents, guards Steve Edwards and Lewis Kelly, also failed to receive a tender and their rights were lost as well. In addition to those three, the Giants also waived defensive tackle Sir Henry Anderson. Just because the Giants failed to offer a tender to these players and lost their right, does not mean they can't re-sign them if they desire. However, since tenders were not offered to secure their rights in the first place, it's unlikely the Giants will offer any of them another contract.
