In the OREGONIAN, Jason Quick writes "Nate McMillan was huffing. And puffing. And sweating. So when the Trail Blazers coach gave his assessment of a day in the life of Greg Oden, it was with broken and gasping words. This,' McMillan said, catching his breath before continuing. This is the real deal. The kid is going to be all right'. The kid, of course, was Oden, the 20-year-old center for the Blazers who is spending his first NBA season on the sidelines while rehabbing a surgically repaired right ...

Games #68/#69/#70 - Suns & Clippers
Portland Trail Blazers —
Ah priorities. Don’t think the slowing of the pace for me around here means I’ve grown bored with the progress the Blazers have made this season. I mean, the Blazers are 37-33 through 70 games. Their next win will match my prediction from before the season. If they finish 5-7 in the last 12 games, they’ll finish with their first winning record since the 50 win season of 2002-2003. People can complain about all the little things that have gone wrong or not right this season, but the simple fact is that this project is ahead of schedule.
Oh, and how’s this for even more great news? If training camp were starting in a few weeks, Greg Oden ...

I wanted to talk today about Jason Quick's excellent article from Sunday about Greg Oden's training regimen. No doubt you all have read it. If you haven't, please do so posthaste! The main thrust of the article was Oden's rehab progress, but I was more intrigued by the subtext, namely the way Oden viewed and related to Coach McMillan and his job. Consider the following: ...

bizofbasketball.com 3/24/2008 — If you listen to the players, the Sonics are dead, it’s just that the body doesn’t know it yet. The SuperSonics owner Clay Bennett, along with the NBA is working to relocate the Sonics to Bennett’s hometown of Oklahoma City. blazersedge.com 3/24/2008 — Boxscore Well, jeepers. This game was a lot closer than it had a right to be. With Los Angeles suddenly losing Corey Maggette and only fielding 8 players, few of those household names (seriously, it read like a Summer League roster), ...
Game 70 Recap: Blazers 83, Clippers 72
blazersedge.com 3/24/2008 — Boxscore This was another one of those strange games. It seemed like everybody either had a fantastic game or a crappy one...not much in the middle. We got carried by 3.5 guys and endured through the play of all the rest. ...
Jemele Hill Continues Her Quest To Become The Worst Journalist Of All Time
firejaymariotti.blogspot.com 3/24/2008 — I have no idea who currently holds that title, but I can't see them doing so much longer as long as Jemele keeps up her recent pace of drivelish shit . (A quick Google search reveals that she's far from the only writer out there to hold this opinion, but for our purposes let's pretend this whole perspective was her idea. It'll be more fun that way. And thanks to everyone who tipped me off ...
