Dumb, yes I know, but it could realistically happen. In this story it talks about the Sonics moving out of Seattle and to Oklahoma City. Now when teams move they usually keep the nickname they are known by (New Orleans Hornets, Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz, Memphis Grizzlies) in the NBA even knowing how dumb the latter three sound. Are there any lakes in L.A.? Bears in Memphis?

The NBA won’t let an existing team, like the Sonics, move to Oklahoma City because the league’s 30 owners won’t get to charge and split the expansion fee. Bottom line, money talks in the NBA."
