The Detroit Tigers can't win every game with football scores, can't outlast their own bullpen over the course of 162 games, can't jackhammer their way to late rallies after five-run deficits every night.
That they did it once, after all the rationalizations of the last two weeks turned into excuses, offered a glimpse of what we expected them to become.
One victory in a 3-10 start doesn't ...
