... This comes just a month after Artest faced legal troubles for animal abuse complaints involving several of his dogs. Artest’s typically childish response to those accusations was, “I have a new professional doggy watcher from out of state that will help me train my dogs better. ... Artest has been removed indefinitely from the Kings roster, something that didn't happen with his latest run-in with the authorities. Animal control officials removed a starving dog from Artest's property last month. Nor did he lose any playing time due to a November incident when his wife called the police to their home and complained that he had vandalized her property. No charges were filed in that case nor in a 2002 incident between the couple.
