[image] Another year, another season opening overseas. Except this time, the first four games of a 1,230-game schedule were on the other side of the pond. I don't know about anyone else, but the exercise was rather zzzzz this time around. The atmosphere in the rinks made the games seem, on television anyway, like exhibition games ( quieter than a library , in other words). We've heard a lot about how these excursions are aimed at growing revenues, and while that might be the case from a marketing standpoint, it stands to reason that there are some pretty heavy costs to ...

... That is what the weekend meant to me at least. Indeed it was great to see hockey again and the best games of the weekend were definitely in Stockholm and not Prague. Ottawa vs. Pittsburgh shaped up to be more of a game than Tampa Bay VS. the Rangers. But it is not so great to have to wait three long days for more regular season hockey. Sean Leahy hits it right on the head as usual here. The plan from the powers that be reminds me too much of the song "Teenage Wasteland" from The Who. Great song by the way! ...
