As reported in the NEW YORK TIMES : Jeter was examined by Dr. Stuart Hershon, the team physician, and was determined to have a bruise. Jeter, who missed six games earlier this season with a strained left quadriceps muscle, will be re-evaluated Wednesday. Jeter’s left hand was wrapped with an elastic bandage to the middle of his forearm.
