By this point, just about everyone has heard that Alexander Ovechkin left Sunday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets with an “upper body injury.” My first reaction was that coaches have become more elusive with their answers than a married man returning from a bachelor party. For the record, Ovechkin has listed himself as “day to day,” which leads me to believe this is nothing for anyone to get worked up over. But when Bruce Boudreau simply responded to questions about the severity of the injury with, “I don’t know,” he certainly fanned the flames of speculation. ...
