... “Hey Segway guy,” the Park Police officer was shouting at Alex Ovechkin. “You can’t ride in there.”
Ovechkin, wearing his red Caps jersey and yes, riding a Segway, scooted out of the tourist-dotted maze that encircles the National Christmas tree, smiling his gap-toothed smile.
“I’m sorry officer, he got away from me,” apologized Mary Ann Melville, a tour guide from Capital Segway.

... where I live). I mean, really, is there an anymore blatant way to announce how disgustingly rich you are? Plus, you look ridiculous. Get a bicycle. Or better yet, walk inverted like the rest of the population. It's what separates us from apes. You should celebrate that.
Having said that, the Washington Capitals are way cooler than most on a Segway, and Ovechkin is hilarious. Although they still look like complete dorks:

Caps on Segways

... fun town. There are museums, great restaurants, the heart of national government...and the latest thing in tourist technology, segway tours. After defenseman Mike Green complained recently of boredom it was decided that he and some of his cohorts would go on such a tour. And he'd be joined by Alex Ovechkin, Matt Bradley, and Nicklas Backstrom. The result? Pure comedy. As with anything involving Ovechkin, the day's events were filled with classic quotes: I should say that ...

... beginning, I’ve been a bigger Ovechkin fan than a Sid the Kid fan. Don’t get me wrong, I think Crosby is the better player and he’s a joy to watch (he even reminds me a bit of Yzerman), but Alexander Ovechkin’s goofy personality wins me over everytime. You can see it when the team took a Segway tour of DC in the clip below followed by my favorite Ovechkin quote from the trip.

The Sharks and Flames are already a pair deep in their Pacific match-up, and the Flyers and Capitals are still waiting in their stalls with their special Stanley Cup patches by their team’s crests. But as a Philly fan that calls DC my residence, I can tell that this city is ready. Release the puck already!
