Today the Panthers announced the signing of veteran free agent defensive tackle Ian Scott. Scott was the Bears’ fourth-round draft pick in 2003, and he was a solid starter in 2004 and 2005. But in 2006 he started to fall out of favor with the coaching staff in Chicago and lost his spot in the starting lineup to Tank Johnson. ... , the Panthers struck quickly, agreeing to terms with Darwin Walker & Ian Scott to 1-year deals today. Scott spent his first 4 years with the Bears, before moving to Philadelphia last year. Unfortunately for him, he suffered an injury and spent all of last season on the IR. Walker (an 8-year pro) has spent time with Arizona, Philadelphia & most recently Chicago. Last season was his first (and last) in Chicago… he played in 11 games (7 starts) and had 33 tackles and 1 sack. Both guys have 1 Super Bowl start to their credit… Scott for the Bears ...
