Panthers use tag on Gross
kcudah posted 2/22/2008 from charlotte.com
As expected, the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday used their franchise tag on offensive tackle Jordan Gross. That means Gross, unless his agent is able to negotiate a long-term deal, will be locked up for the 2008 season at $7.45 million -- the average salary of the five highest-paid linemen in the NFL last season.
