NBC To Hire Dan Patrick And Reunite Him With Olbermann
Published 7/7/2008 by Awful Announcing- (noreply@blogger.com) at Awful Announcing
... program.I love the two together as much as the next person but it just makes zero sense to hire more people for that studio show. This hire makes seven employees that currently work on the show and that's just way too many cooks in the kitchen. I wish nothing but fun times for the two, but I don't know how they're going to get to say what they want with Costas, Collinsworth, Bettis, Barber and Peter King vying for airtime as well. It'll be interesting. Patrick and Olbermann Reunite on NBC (NY Times)

... NBC sent the press release wide: This fall, NBC’s Sunday night football show will be co-hosted by former Sportscenter buddies Keith Olbermann and Dan Patrick. On With The Big Show, Again [Media]

... According to NBC Sports, Patrick will reunite with Olbermann as part of NBC Sports "Football Night In America" broadcast starting this fall. Yes, it's true: Patrick and Olbermann will tag-team the highlights and, once again, unleash their highly-evolved brain power upon an unsuspecting sports nation. But it's not the 90's anymore. Can these two recapture the magic (and the mustache) they once shared without the show devolving into some egocentric meta-ranting designed only to amuse themselves? Will the suits at NBC worry that the non-reading football audience will feel too ...

Dan Patrick is reuniting with Keith Olbermann on NBC’s Football Night In America. That’s the good news. The bad news?
Besides Patrick and Olbermann, “Football Night” features Bob Costas, Cris Collinsworth, Tiki Barber, Jerome Bettis and Peter King.
If you have Patrick and Olbermann, do you really need Bob Costas, Cris Collinsworth, Tiki Barber, Jerome Bettis and Peter King? I vote fuck and no. I saw Tiki Barber host the July 4th Macy’s fireworks show. If you like everything you watch to feel ...

... Football Night in America crew, and he’ll be doing highlights with Keith Olbermann.
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some of my earliest sports fan memories are of watching Dan and Keith on SportsCenter, and it’s going to be great to see them back together.
I’d rather have Dan and Keith back on the radio together (that hour they were on together at ESPN Radio was legendary and must-listen radio), but this announcement is better than nothing.

Dan Patrick to Join NBC's Football Night in America
Published 7/7/2008 by Jimmy at Music City Miracles: Front Page Posts
NBC has announced today that Dan Patrick will join their Football Night in America program that airs each Sunday night before the Sunday Night Football game. The move reunites one of the best ever SportsCenter combinations in Patrick and Keith Olbermann. "The Big Show" combination changed the way highlights were done on SC and will be handling the highlight duties on FNIA.
The FNIA show will not be short on egos this current season because Patrick joins Bob Costas, Chris Collinsworth, Jerome Bettis, Tiki Barber and Peter King.
I am a fan of Patrick, and a huge fan of the Olbermann Patrick combination, so I am excited to see how this plays ...

The New York Times’ Richard Sandomir reported earlier today NBC has hired former “SportsCenter” anchor Dan Patrick and plans to pair him with Keith Olbermann on the network’s “Football Night In America” highlights show. Presumably, adding yet another body to an already-crowded FNIA panel will leave little time for Olbermann’s excruciating “The Worst Person In The NFL” feature, (though to Keith’s credit, he did select himself in Week 2 last season.

Tuesday Notes: Cardinals Say No to Davenport
Published 7/8/2008 by Sean Yuille at Pride Of Detroit: Front Page Posts
If the Detroit Lions have any interest in signing free agent running back Najeh Davenport, it appears there won't be much competition for the former Steeler. Davenport recently said on Sirius NFL Radio that he would like to play for the Cardinals or Lions, but Arizona has no interest in him. That means if Detroit is looking for a power back to fill the void left by T.J. Duckett's departure, Davenport could easily be brought in. At this time it doesn't appear that there is a whole lot of interest in Davenport from the Lions' side of things, so only time will tell if talks between the two parties are initiated.

When Dan Patrick and Keith Olbermann hosted the show? Well, they are tag-teaming it up again, for NBC's "Football Night In America" this time. I thought this was the best NFL pregame show around last year, and it can only get better with these two guys running the show: Dan Patrick has been named a co-host of NBC's "Football Night in America" studio show, reuniting him with Keith Olbermann. The two redefined sports highlights during their time together on ESPN’s SportsCenter from 1992-97.
