Paul Pierce-Was You Really Hurt?

Paul Pierce last night had one of the greatest comebacks in NBA Finals history, or was he pulling one on the Lakers?  It was amazing to see Pierce go down with a knee injury.  And just like Willis Reed 38 years ago come out the tunnel hitting shots.  And helping the Celtics take a 1-0 lead in the best of 7.  To me personaly kind of suspesious.  I know its looks like I’m trying to hate on Pierce, but it just looks real phony.  I mean now you’re hearing this one of the great comeback injuires in NBA Finals history.  Its being compared to Isaiah Thomas,Micheal Jordan and the nerve of anyone with a NBA brain to comapre this to Willis Reed.  Pierce you had a good game but on the low was you fakin the funk? Only time will tell.

You Sir, Are No Willis Reed
theworldofisaac.blogspot.com 6/6/2008 — if I hear one more reference to Paul Pierce pulling a Willis Reed last night, I'm going to hang myself. Willis Reed was legitimately hurt when he limped out onto the floor in Game 7 of the 1970 Finals. He was hurt so bad, he couldn't play more than 15 minutes that game. He was dragging his leg as he ran up the court. Pierce was carried off to the locker room because he said he heard a ...

The Hidden Effect of Paul Pierce's Dramatic Comeback
wisinsider.blogspot.com 6/6/2008 — Kobe Bryant is a weird dude. We all know this. For most of his career, he has been too contrived to fully realize his abilities - too conscious of how he is perceived and too eager to prove people wrong. When he's criticized for shooting too much, he ...

Celtics Pull Off One Of The Biggest Comebacks In Finals History, Take Game FourAwfulAnnouncing
I wrote the words "wow" and "unbelievable" about 50 times each in the live-blog, but really what else is there to say? If for whatever reason you did not watch the game/did not hear what had happened, Paul Pierce went down with an knee injury that suspiciously sounded like the same injury that happened to Bynum, except he came back out a few minutes later and was able to play the rest of the game. Random thoughts from Thursday’s Game 1 of the NBA Finals, which the Boston Celtics won over the visiting Los Angeles Lakers 98-88: We’ll be lucky if anyone breaks 100 in this series, which is sure to be a defensive struggle at times. 2008 NBA FINALS / Celts Pierce Lakers in Game 1Big Daddy Sports Fan
The Boston Celtics broke through with the game 1 victory last night in dramatic fashion. When Paul Pierce bounched out of the locker room it reminded me of Willis Reed. The Lakers had a 5 point halftime lead on 50% shooting. That would change. The crowd went ballistic when Pierce hit a couple 3's, but his second half defense was just as important. Actually the Celtic team D won them the game

During these playoffs, Paul Pierce has been cementing his place as an all time Celtic great and a lock to have his number retired. Then there was last nights game 1 in the NBA Finals where he had a Willis Reed type moment that ...
Paul Pierce Is No Willis ReedFanIQ Blog
Oh My God! He Can Walk! He Can Walk Again! It's A Miracle! I think we're getting just a little carried away with the heroism today after Paul Pierce went from being carried off the floor to hitting threes all within the third quarter. The first half was rather pedestrian but after a supposed Pierce knee injury and Willis Reed-like return (nowhere near the same though) it picked up.
