Bulls GM John Paxson denied yesterday's rumor that he was interested in hiring Larry Brown as the permanent replacement for Scott Skiles. In fact, Paxson denied being interested in making anyone the permanent replacement just yet. From the Chicago Sun-Times: Paxson reiterated that interim coach Jim Boylan, whom Paxson promoted after firing Scott Skiles on Christmas Eve, has the job at least until the end of the season. ... from interim coach Jim Boylan. Paxson said the rumors were just that rumors, and they had no credence what ever. He said that he has not even begun the initial inquiry into next year’s coach. Paxson reiterated that Boylan would be the bench boss for the rest of this campaign. Boylan a former Bulls assistant coach, became interim coach after Chicago terminated former coach Scott Skiles in December.

Zeke Says No Trades Likely Before NBA Deadline

Before Thomas had his contract extended last Spring I wrote an article saying that Zeke was a good bench coach, but not a good purveyor of NBA talent. I suggested then that James Dolan keep Thomas on as coach, but hire some young guy(basically a fantasy geek type) who can sit in a backroom and make deals. Dolan of course kept Thomas on in both roles.
