Jake Peavy of the Padres is headed to the 15-Day DL after completing a MRI on his ailing right elbow. Luckily for owners there is not structural damage and hopefully Peavy will bounce right back after a two week hiatus. Owners, you don't need me to tell you to just sit back and wait for his return. Very quick look at Peavy’s pitches vs. Chicago with PITCHf/x: Fastball: 45 (92) Slider: 24 (81.3) Curve: 14 (78.9) Change up: 4 (84.6) Looking at some of Peavy’s previous starts I’ve done , it looks like his velocity was down a bit (1-2 mph on FB; ~3 mph slider), although I would always keep in mind the possible data problems .
