Pelfrey out with leg injury
Mike Pelfrey felt discomfort during a bullpen session Friday and was diagnosed with a strain in his lower left leg, the team announced. Pelfrey had an MRI exam Saturday in Florida to try to determine the cause of a rash on his swollen left ankle, a team source said. Doctors had been unable to conclusively identify the origin of the issue, and thought it was a bug bite, before learning the redness and swelling was fluid from the strain.
